New clasp code?????

You know how the clasp code somewhat helps identifies production date. Well I got my BNIB GV today, and the code is ovd. What the heck is that?

Just a few letters nothing more nothing less myself dont really care when a bracelet or clasp was made.Same for the watch case just cannot see what all this fuss is over a production date. Most of the S.Steel watches are not long enough at ADs to gather any dust and when bought new all have the same warranty. Most Rolex watches have changed very little over the last 20 years except for a internet code case stamp a few minor fonts.

Well since they've randomized serial numbers, it would make sense to do the same to clasp codes - seems like Rolex doesn't want people to be able to estimate production date.

It's a V8 watch, not random serial.

Congrats. for your new Millgauss. I had the same feeling when I got mine as it is a V7 with a clasp code E1U.. But why the worry as our Millgauss's are identified by the V serial.. So we know the production date..
I guess this problem (of Random SN) will rise after a couple of years.. when all the new batches are all Randomized!.. Just enjoy your MillGV..
