Yours Thoughts Please..Best PAM with Budget

Hi All!

Any and all advice/comments/thoughts is most certainly welcome. I have got about a $3500 budget and am looking to get my first Panerai. I am looking on here and not wanting to go to an AD. I really like all styles that I have seen both on TRF and at my AD, so I would be pleased in just about anything to get my feet wet.

Perhaps a gently pre-loved Base or Historic model e.g. 000, 112, 005, 111, etc...

But what are your preferences? Automatic or handwound, Luminor or Radiomir, steel or titanium, etc?

bhoge - im kindof in the same boat. not really new to the watch scene but i dont want to spend a ton either. skys the limit as im sure you have seen with regards to prices.... im looking for a 112, 111, or 000, 005. these are all handwound and basically the low end of the panerai collection i guess one could say. but to be honest thats what i like about them. just real basic.

you just need to decide if you want a second hand or not and if the display back or sandwich dial are more for your liking than a closed back or painted (sausage) dial.

google those models and see what you think. seems like the 111s are more available on the preowned market followed by the 112 and then the 000 and 005.

There are some used bases (PAM000) floating around within your budget. Great watch to start collecting Panerai with.

and they aren't really low end (only in cost)..I think they actually hold their values the best...

For manual wind: hard to beat the sandwich dial 112.

For auto: 104

The 000 is right where you want to be with regard to price and a perfect starting point with Panerai. It still is my day to day goto watch. Good luck!!

I'd go with the PAM24. It's more towards 4K used but it includes date. The PAM88 would be another good choice.

000 005 112 111

000 and 005 can easily be had under 3500
112 and 111 are a little tougher to get but can be had if you are patient.

Also, consider straps in the deal. Sometimes you can go over your budget it the seller is inluding many straps as you can sell them. I sold two straps I got with my 111 at a $200 profit to me. Also I got a brand new OEM black gator (valued at $300+) with my deal. So consider the who pacakge.

You can't really go wrong with any of the suggestions from previous posts! They are all incredible watches and i wish you the best of luck with your hunt!
Be sure and post some pics when you do pull the trigger so i can drool!

if i can find a top notch 000 for under 3500 thats all me!! probably in a year but that would be a great price IMO.

Well looks like the date I have waiting on me at the bar will have to wait a bit longer. Ive got a new date with TRF looking up all these models. Thanks to all of you (that that have been helpful (that's all of you). I really appreciate the awesome advice. Soon enough, she will be mine....

i love and prefer the simple dial PAMs, so i would suggest.

Lum - PAM000
Rad - PAM210

Because they are the base model for both variants, so the second hand should go under your budget... i think.

actually i like the 112 or 000 best more than the more expensive ones.
