UK 116610 Update - Spuds, look here!

Hey all,

In addition to Marke's report of a 116610 coming in, we had confirmation of our first 116610 coming in on the next allocation today! I'm excited just looking forward to seeing it, I can't imagine how excited those who are actually buying one are!

Very interesting...I've heard this from other AD's too, but when I call my local goldsmiths they are saying next month...annoying! Seems Like I'm No.1 on the list at the LAST AD in the UK to get their new subs.

hi chris yesterday my ad said that they were waiting for their allocation notice but still did not know what they were getting. johny

The allocation is usually due mid month i think.

Just got the call from my AD - I have been allocated the black Submariner when it comes in!!! Can't wait now - I feel like a kid at Christmas!!!

We got our notice this morning - I'd expect the allocation itself to come in within the next couple of weeks

man, i hope Dan gets a call today also - that would MADE his day, even for the rest of 2010

I am sure yours will come sooner rather than later Eric - I have been pestering my AD after he told me he would have the list early in the week and there was a chance a SUB may be on there as I was looking at another model last week. I suppose most AD's haven't made the call yet and would probably wait till they had the watch in hand before calling?

probably.....

while popping into my AD to say a quick hi this Monday, one thing lead to another i have "verbally ordered" a Sub-C and would love to take a look of both Sub-Cs when they arrive.

to be honest, im not in a rush... i'm still in the honeymoon period with my lastest 2 acquisitions... and according to my AD, im not due for another one until September... (wtf - he knows me too well, and it scares me)

i really do hope you guys get the Sub-Cs asap, it has been too long for the UK members. i hope i get to see your pix when i get back from the holidays

I think perhaps the problem with buying from Goldsmiths (as I do) is that Goldsmiths as a 'whole' get a 'group allocation' & then that's dished out... so the branches themselves are always that little less well informed than independent AD's.

True spuds...this mirrors my thoughts. This may mean though that head office may not give out their allocation equally among the branches...so some will get loads soon and others will wait longer. This of course is total speculation...

Man I wish I knew what Rolex (and goldsmiths) are up to!

Rang up close to 10 rolex suppliers and was getting told next year for a submariner but i do have an ace up my sleeve as one of the shops where i bought a watch from before the "top guy" is on holiday and was told call in and see him next week :)
Saying that if i cant get a watch till next year, Would be a nice 25th birthday present to myself :)

Got a call from Signet group head office today who advised that they were getting 30 black subs in their next shipment, no word on green as yet, and that they should be in the allocated branches within 4/5 weeks.

Many of you might already be aware that I'm currently FIRST in line for an LV at my AD's (Goldsmiths) & FOURTH in line for an LN.


To be honest I didn't & don't really have a preference yet as I've not seen either in the flesh.....


Now my AD's a great guy & a fellow WIS & I genuinely like him, so this is in now way meant to reflect badly on him in any way but it just shows how poorly Goldsmiths HQ communicate with their branches......



This morning my AD emailed & informed me that......

Hi Dan.

I hope you are okay. Sorry I have not replied sooner.
I have just got back from 2 weeks holiday and have only been in one day this week as
I am working the weekend.

I still have not had a definite arrival date for this model and am still being told a launch date of Autumn.
If your piece does arrive sooner I have your details and will keep the watch for you.

You have £abc in your deposit account
this leaves a balance of £xyz.00 which I could take on card as a phone transaction.
I would have to take the balance today to ensure no other branch requests the watch.
