How many is enough?
When is enough... enough?
How many in a collection before we call it quits? How many do you have in your collection - and how many more are you planning on acquiring to further the collection? I'll start. I'm Joey and I'm a watch-a-holic. I have 3 Rolexes and I'm looking to make it to 10 some day.

Busted!
I have 24 watches. Eight are very good watches, six are pretty good and the rest are casual.
When I build up too many, I give some of my less worn/less valuable watches to relatives. I have various techniques to quell my appetite for watches (moratorium-I won't buy another watch until (date in future). Sadly, this technique does not work. I used to collect wine and photography equipment and just lost interest, so hopefully my watch jones will fade to some extent. Meanwhile, I have no shortage of watches to wear and admire. |

Just one more...
I always think I have to get one more, and then I'll be done.

Whatever number makes one's individual collection complete. Or if a person is happy with just one watch, one it is.

I really only plan on buying two - maybe three in my life.
I have an awesome DJ - I want a TT professional model next and MAYBE when I retire or some later landmark in life I'll pick up a Day Date :)

I have a Pepsi GMT and just want a Yachtmaster TT with a white dial and that will be it in my lifetime, as i am 61. I should really wear a Rolex on each wrist, but that will mean i've got too much time on my hands !

I set no limits for the amount of watches. That can only make for a dilema down the road.
I am a catch and release guy, but keep my favorites for longer. |

Agreed. I currently only have two Rolex watches but I have my eye on so many other Rolex models (I love the Daytona especially the Rose gold and of course the SS Daytona, The new Sub Ceramic LV, Yachtmaster, GMT-IIc, Datejust II for starters) that I would like to add not to mention my fondness for a couple Blancpain, Patek, and Panerai. The only thing holding me back is the financial part. I bought two Rolexes in a span of two months and one for my wife as well in this time frame about 9 months ago so I need to wait a little a while for my next purchase. But the sky is the limit. I don't think you can have enough variety.

I would say 2, 1 classic & 1 sporty one should be sufficient; but personally knowing myself well enough, I probably will wear only one of them. Ask me why,,,, I don't know the real reason, but I'm like that :)

I got my first Rolex (11610) ever just a month ago, and my second (1610) this week. I'm now contemplating a third. I'm beginning to realize that this is an addiction.
My current plan is to get one of each sub model that reflects a major change in design. As if that weren't bad enough, I can see myself then switching to a different model (GMT?) and doing the same. I may need an intervention soon. |

Each time I've purchased another Rolex, I've told myself that it's my last. I really meant it in June when I bought my fifth, a white-dial SS Daytona. However, I enjoy each one so much that I dare say there is at least one more in my future. I think the platinum Yachtmaster would be a great addition to the daily rotation....

Ideally just TWO - one for daily wear and a nice TT one for the weekends.
But what the heck............what do we know about an ideal world?
