What Rolex just for the water?

I want to get a newer Rolex for just to take when Im going swimming. But I dont wanna spend another 4-5k. So what Rolex would you guys recommend in the 2-3k range. I was thinking maybe a no-date sub or an explorer I? Let me know what you guys think.

Possibly an Exp II, i just saw one ebay that they are anywhere from 2500-4k on ebay. so i guess thats on option too. but for some reason i just live the look of a Exp I, especially a vintage one.

You can get an preowned Explorer I in that range I don't know about a Sub maybe more like 3.5 - 4k.

I know, i thought you guys were gonna hate me for making this post after seeing i have a sub. But It has an original tritium bezel and for some reason i feel that water is gonna ruin the pearl. I dunno, my sub is my little baby but my daily beater at the same time. I just cant see myself putting it underwater. I just feel like something newer, even tho im a vintage lover, would be better for swimming. besides the fact that i really want an EXP I for some reason and that seems like the cheapest way out.

I do understand your thought and would never judge you over what you have or don't!!
For me,I'd wear it but not all here would either!!!
Besides,that's a great excuse to buy another Rolex in my book...I might try that one on the wife!!

No no i meant I thought you guys would be mad cause a sub is made for the water, like whats the point of me making this post when I already have a divers watch. But i just cant take it in the water, sure i get it wet in the sink, but just the bracelet and maybe the case back.

Exp is a great choice as others have suggested...Should find a pre-owned one in your price range!! Good luck!

there are some nice pre-owned options...

i recently acquired an explorer and it hasn't left my wrist. and it would contrast nicely to the dimensions of a sub date. at the same time, a datejust would do the trick. plus pre-owned dj prices are very nice.

but if you want similar dimensions to your sub date, go for an explorer 2. awesome watch!

how do you feel about not having a date window?

Well I suppose i could live without a date but I know every time I wear a watch without it and I hear someone ask for the date, the place I look instantly is my watch. So thats why im thinking get an explorer I or a no-date sub and just use it for water events and to save money. An Exp II would be nice but if I can get a I for $500 cheaper then i would probably go with the I.
