i kind of want a sub
for the longest time, i resist to purchase a sub 16610 because my best friend has it. honestly, i was a little upset because it has always been my favorite watch, and he bought it first. nevertheless, he is still my best friend, and i am happy that he got his favorite watch as well. because of such reason, i settled with the gmt2 coke. and the watch grew on me, then it became my favorite watch.
recently, another forum member, wholesaleneon aka sam, and i took on the comex shirt project that many of you participated. i do own a sd (two of them actually), but the sub is just different. it was my favorite rolex since i was a kid. a part of me tells me not to get it because i already have the sd. but i really really want one, so i told myself... if i could find a sub with a reasonable price, then i'd get it. again, i am facing some issues... i want a sub with lug holes because i just dig them. i do not like the hollow end links on the 93150 bracelet, and the half link on the 93250 does not fit my tiny 6 inch wrist. um... so what do i do? ah... why don't i wear the sub on my 93160 sd bracelet? i wasn't sure if that would work, so i asked my buddy to let me try it on his sub. and being a good friend he is, he let me play with his sub. and the end resut? it worked! so now i want a sub... however, being a broke research biochemist, i don't have that much cash to play around. thanks to the high living cost in the sf bay area and the low paying job!!! i am thinking to purchase an older 16610 (head only) without papers nor service history to reduce the cost. then take the watch to the sf service center for a complete service. if so, how much should i expect to pay for the sub? experts, help please!!! thanks in advance. |

If I could find one of those, especially a 16800, I would be in line too.........
