Sub-C - To keep or not to keep?
Hello all,
Two days ago my AD called me to let me know that he had a 116610LN that just arrived. I went in and purchased it without any hesitation. Now that it's been sitting in it's box untouched at home, it's difficult for me not to conduct the whole unwrapping ceremony. Anyhow, my dilemma is that I've been on the hunt for a WG Daytona and can only justify the purchase if I sell the 116610LN. This is my current collection of Rolex: 116520 16660 16610LV 116400GV What do you think? Would a 116610LN or 116509 fit better in the mix? Here's a comparison shot

Personally I'd flip the 116610, even no I' m a big fan of them, and get the 116509. In the long run though, it's what you are going to like the most.

Hi Michael - I'm thinking along the same lines as I've posted it already on the FS forum to see if I can get any interest.

I'd keep them both. Once you flip the Sub, you will go out and buy it again !

You are comparing apples and oranges with sub vs Daytona.
With your collection dump the 116520 and go for the 116509. Keep the Sub-C and if you need more cash for the WG Daytona, dump the LV; that should put you at $13-$14K and 116509 can be had in near mint condition for $17K. The Sub-C will sell for a premium for some time to come. I got rid of my 116520 for the 116509. Very, very happy with the decision.

Good advice - I'm still looking for a 116509 Black Dial, which is not easy to come by in Hong Kong at the moment, believe it or not

Honestly, it's your money, your watch and, ultimately, your choice.
If it were me I'd go with the daytona cause one Sub is good enough, especially if it's al LV. |
