Explorer II on Leather
Removing the oyster bracelet was trickier than I thought it would be, and I think switching back will be even harder. The new leather is stiff and needs to loosen up a bit, but I like it. What do you think?

It looks good, makes it a little more formal I think.
On the difficult to swap issue ... I agree, and why I like the lug-holes on the watches that do have them. |

I'm actually torn on the issue.. The moment I think, 'Hey that's not too bad!' I fall towarsd the inverse.. Perhaps I'd have to see it in the flesh. hm.. I was the same way with my 1986 TT datejust on black leather.. lovehate.. Cheers bud, PS: Super depolyment clasp, I love those!

Not really doing it for me.
I think a black carbon strap or a black NATO would be more to my liking.

Very nice, especially the deployant buckle. Is that an authentic alligator strap??

I agree. When I bought the Exp II, I intended to get a SubDate at some point. I haven't yet, but then I've only had the Explorer for a few months.
I like the Explorer on the leather - it's a little dressier. I'd like to have a Sub to be a little sportier. Maybe I need another watch?? |

It's really too small to be a man's watch. You should give it to your wife.

Sorry, but I have to be honest with you. The leather on that beautiful watch does not make the cut for me. I have had an Exp II for a couple of years now and really like the watch. However, I could never imagine taking it off the Rolex bracelet. Cheers, Bill P.

Agree - top drawer look is with original bracelet the leather straps and most nylon straps just cannot compete IMO.

I like the Explorer I on leather but on the Explorer II, I don't know to me it looks out of place. It's just not the sort of watch for leather IMO. I would stick with the SS but if I was to change I think a NATO, carbon fiber, or canvas would be better.
