I currently own a 14060 which I use as my travel watch / beater - it's a great watch and I fell in love with the simplicity and understated elegance, but not sure if it's "The One." I need a large watch because I have large wrists.

I am looking for a watch that I do not have to think twice about going in the ocean with, taking on safari, etc. basically a do all affair. I only need 1 Rolex and prefer no "bling" (I am not in love with PCLs, but can live with them or get them brushed...).

I thought the GMT II C was it, but my everyday watch is a black face Cartier Roadster XL so I am now leaning towards a watch with a white face or grey face.

DJ II white stick dial - how durable / rugged are they? Is this good for going in the ocean, etc. (the deepest I will dive is 20 feet, but I may body surf, sail, etc.). Is this a "sport" watch?

YM SS/PL - all of a sudden this watch has caught my eye and I originally did not like it in the slightest - I am concerned a new version (not II) will come out and it may be dated. Also, grey dial vs. white dial seems to have fewer applications...

My 14060 is a D serial 95% with full boxes and papers - is the 14060 plus $2000-$2500 realistic for any of the above?

PS - I thought about a DSSD, Ceramic Sub and SeaDweller, but I would go for a GMT II C over any of these...

Well if you want a really tough watch with no bling the 14060 is hard to beat. If you want a case that looks a little larger on the wrist then the new Sub., or GMT would do it. Any Oyster will let you go 20ft deep. The Date Just is just as tough as the Sub. and gives you lots of choice with dials. All your choices have more bling than the 14060.

If the GMT II C beats out all those other sports version I think you answered your own question. Go for the GMT and let us know how it worked out.

Not a YM fan. The DJII seems out of sorts to me.

The GMTIIC...that is pretty close to a perfect watch I think. That's muh next one!

All three of your choices have PCLs!

IMHO the YM and DJ2 thrive on being blingy, and brushing the PCLs would be an injustice. Besides you would then have to brush the cases as well to have them match.

I guess this leaves a brushed II-C as your only option.

I think the datejust will be a little blingy especially with the fluted bezel, it really plays under the light.

The yatchmaster is what I picked for myself, but I still consider it to be blingy compared to a GMT2c.. But I find it very versatile for both casual or work attire..

So try them all and see which fits your profile better..

My vote would be for a white dialed DJ2 or Yachtmaster. There are not enough Rolex white dialed sports watches IMO.

i think your best option is a SS GMTIIC with PCL and get it brushed when it gets all scratched up...

Yeah brush a new GMTIIc and call it a day. Personally though, if you like the SUB ND the SD may be just what you need, a slightly beefed up sub. Either of these will be the right choice I am certain.

Your thoughts on the YM - don't worry about a new version I doubt it very much. It doesn't move quickly and it would take Rolex AD's even more years to sell off the remaining watches especially if a newer and better one came out which really isn't possible. The YM is basically a high end upgraded sub and is too flashy for your purposes IMO.
