The GV....

What was Rolex's goal with this newer model:
- Dressy tool watch?
- Tool watch with bling?
- Test the watch market with a combo of both?

Just curious...

Maybe a homage to an old product line?

I think it would be the same for the whole line. The GV does not change much.

A millgauss that is just a little hotter than the white/black dial versions.

The Milgauss is actualy a model made decades before.....
This model now is a release of homage to that line.....and a nice one at that!

I believe it was marketed as the "scientist's watch". I guess it was made to withstand magnetic fields while looking good against a white coat?

Sixxgrand1 by looking at that bottle do you make or collect hot sauce as well? That is my other hobbie and it blows my mind to see that beautiful watch and bottle...

The Milgause line was initially designed to be worn in special environment with high magnetic interference, hence by nature it belongs to tool watch group. Design wise, the lack of date function also emphasizes its root as a tool watch, like the Explorer and Sub-ND. I feel that the new Milgause gives a glimpse of what a DJII will look like with a smooth bezel. Hence it could be Rolex's experiment of creating a hybrid dressy tool watch. Just my 2 cents.
