"quick & dirty" - 16610LV vs. 116610LN bracelet+clasp pix

(i hope this is not a repeat )

before the wife and i left for Istanbul a couple of weeks ago, Eric (Eric88) asked if I could take some compario pix of the two... didnt get a chance until now...

so here you go (hope it isnt too late)

the 116610 bracelet & clasp combo def. look and feel more solid than the 16610 combo

(damn, found another protective sticker )

have few more pix - will link them another time

also, it is interesting that when looking at the first pic - backside of the case - specifically on the nine-o'clock side, the new cases is obviously larger.

but i thought rolex said the two are the same diameter. thoughts?

Ask JJ. He is our official scale manager.

Nice photo comparison, Eric
While I like the new clasp design, I still think that the old clasp is fuss-free, functional and more reliable.

yes, the new case is bigger (supercase), but the dial diameter remains at 40mm for both.

the GMTIIC case is "almost" the same as the Sub-C case apparently... by 1mm

i'm familiar with the supercase... in fact i had a gmt2c and hated it...

but, i thought rolex was officially maintaining the same diameter for the the records, but along with the case's increased thickness, the case is obviously of a larger diameter.

yeah, not too sure about the technical specs and reasoning of the increased case size.

personally i enjoy wearing the 16610LV, since it is lighter, narrower and not as thick compared to the 116610LN - however, i felt the SS GMTIIC was very comfortable on my wrist, and actually wore it for one of our 10-day hoildays

Can you try fitting the bracelet from the Sub-C on the older Sub? Any idea if the glidelock clasp could be interchanged with the older bracelet? Thanks.

Great side by sides Eric.......!

The question of weather the bracelet will fit on the 16610 is yes....
Another member swapped them over but said the only thing was he couldn't use the springbars from the 116610...Had to stay with original springbars because of hole size in the lugs(aparently larger on the newer model!?!?)!!! Hope I made sense.!?!?

yeah, i think it makes sense for using larger springbars on the new bracelet, since it is heavier than the older version.

thanks for the info, Rob

I am not a huge fan of the supercase but the new bracelet is definitely a huge improvement.
