selling my unworn SS Daytona and SS GMT IIc to get the YG GMT IIc. I never have had a solid gold Rolex and I think it is time to get one.

Hmmmmm.................tough call, but I wouldn't. Rather have 2 watches, especially an SS Daytona which will at least always hold its price than giving that up for a full gold one which will always depreciate in value.

As JJ mentioned YG will depreciate a lot more than the SS models, but if this doesn't bother you then I would say trade in your SS watches for the YG. I used to have a YG GMTIIC and it was an amazing watch. My only advice is to buy a cheap beater as there are times and places when you won't want to wear a blingy watch.

The problem is that all gold models aren't good everyday watches. The get banged up quite easily. I use mine once in a while but for every day I use my SS or TT watches. I would do it if you were not planning on wearing it everyday.

I'd keep the Daytona, p/x the SS GMT and save cash for the difference. I'd miss the variety and all gold wouldn't suit most occasions IMHO.

Since you seem to like gold (and I don't blame you at all for that), why not go in for the TT GMT-IIC - you still get plenty of gold on that (centre links being solid 18K gold nuggets) and you would save heaps over the full gold model.

If you want a 18Kt Rolex there are good deals on pre-owned GMT's and Subs, you might be able to trade the SS Daytona for one.

There is just something about having an all gold Rolex that is amazing... I had a 116718 Z earlier this year that I thought I would love. Loved the look of it but it was just too damn heavy. For me the TT would be the way to go as it is about 40% of the price and still alot of bling... Good Luck

Very nice watch Adam!!! As for gold vs. steel...Gold is great to have as long as you have other watches to rotate in.
I would trade my only two SS watches and only have one YG watch.

I wouldn't trade SS daytona for any other watch. I would just save up and buy a used YG GMT2C if I want it that bad.

It is always worth if you are happy with it, I guess, although remember you are giving up to 2 excellent watches that you could use in rotation depending on the day. If you get rid of them for a full gold watch then you will have only one which is not for every occasion. I would love the all gold GMTIIC green dial (or black dial for that matter) or even a SUB but, oh first off, the prices! Secondly, as others have said, the YG is soft and will show the signs of daily wear quickly. It is also heavier.

Maybe save for a pre loved and hope gold prices drop?

Full gold is definitely nice, but I wouldn't sacrifice two watches for one. Unless I REALLY want it. And getting the gold watch, leaves you no option on the SS front... I wouldn't want to wear my gold watch every day/time.

I own both the SS and the YG GMT2-C but the SS definately gets way more wrist time. I prefer SS for its wearability. The YG is a beauty no doubt but I wouldn't get rid of two great ss models to get it. Just my opinion but do what you feel is right for you
