My first two tattoos...

I have always been wanting a tattoo or two in my life, but never had a chance to do so.

But last weekend I went to Bali to accompany my wife for a doctoral anti-aging seminar, and I was jobless.

So I roamed around the place and found a great small tattoo shop. And got me these two inks!

The barcode tattoo is something I have always liked. The first series on the left is the day when me and my wife got together as boyfriend girlfriend thing, and the second series on the right is the wedding date. :)

The tattoo on my finger is her name - AIDA in Sanskrit (Balinese Sanskrit). :)

I was expecting something more painful, but turns out it's not as bad as I thought it would be. However the one on the finger was a badass pain at certain points. The tattoo guy told me that it's all skin and no meat - so the pain is the worst on that area.

Just wanting to share with you guys... these are not even fully healed yet, still waiting for the skin to come off.

Well, to each his own I guess. I had a ring finger tattoo of my wife. God forbid, if anything happens I can give you the number of a good plastic surgeon. I Like tattoos, but I'm not big on visible ones. I just hope they don't interfere with getting a job as well. Still, it looks like a good artist did them and if you are happy, that's all that matters. Congrats

LOL, I hear ya buddy. Well I can always send you a PM for that surgeon. :D

And no, the wrist tattoo will be covered by my watch strap (the strap was pulled way back on the pic just to show the tattoo). And the finger tattoo will be fully covered by my engagement and bvlgari wedding ring. :)

Man, those ink things are a slippery slope - I'll bet money that you'll have another one within a year! :-)

LOL! YES! You read my mind bro!

I'm thinking of getting on both of my thigh, on the back. In Sanskrit or English but sanskrit style that says "Walk with faith" on the left thigh, and "God's my Guide" on the right.

And I'm also thinking of a backbone tattoo right on my backbone!

Cool man, they look good! I have a couple too, and they're not kidding when they say the ink gets in your blood.

I always wanted a tatoo. My problem is, when it comes down to it and I'm honest with myself, I cannot think of a single piece of art or word or symbol that I am 100% certain I will like looking at in 20 or 30 or 40 years.

How about a double helix of DNA, part of your own DNA sequence, somewhere on private skin? http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/lo...cience-tattoo/

I have 3 myself i got them 10 years ago, im not one to get a tattoo in a place that is visible but the bar code thing is actually pretty cool and a watch would cover that up. That may be one idea i steal.
