My new watch with picture!
Hey everyone!
A few weeks ago I started a thread about the Rolex that I was receiving for my eighteenth birthday. As it turned out, I didn't receive a Milgauss but an even more beautiful watch. On my wrist I am wearing a Rolex Oysterdate Precision with a light-green dial. My dad and I have yet to come across such a watch in real life and on the Internet. It is certainly a modified watch as it displays modern Arab numbers and it of course has a green dial. Can anyone give me more advice on when this watch was made? I didn't know until some research that I had to wind up the watch, it isn't an automatic one. Now this is an important question: when I pull the pin out to the first position to wind it, do I go clockwise or counter-clockwise? When I go clockwise, it doesn't go any further after some turns whereas it keeps turning when I go counter-clockwise. I really don't know how this mechanism works, and most sites show different meanings. A good answer to this would be extremely helpful as I do not want to damage my new watch. And if any one could simply give me more details about this watch in general, that would be extremely appreciated. Thank you very much Elliot |

I would say that when you wind it you should wind it clockwise. But when it stops it means it is fully wound, so don't try to wind it past that stop position or you may do some damage to it.
You will need to wind this watch once a day or every second day depending upon its power reserve. It is a cool looking dial and congrats

Nice looking watch reminds me of the exotic dials back in the late 1970s early 1980s, your picture resized a bit it was huge.

Congrats! The green dial is outstanding. This is a manual winding Rolex 6694. If I'm not wrong, the power reserve should be around 40 hrs when fully wound. However, pls do not over-wind it as it'll damage the watch.

Ummmmmmm! I don't know about that timepiece.
Just my suspicious nature, but that dial doesn't seem right to me. Magnification also appears off, but it just could be my eyes. Case also has that SS plated look. Don't mean to pick a fight. Just some observations.

I used to see re-colored dials on sale from one seller. That's what this watch looks like. Looks great, to me.
The magnification could be incorrect, which usually means that the crystal was replaced at servicing with a non-Rolex crystal. If it's acrylic, it's a cheap fix the next time you have it serviced. The correct magnification will make the date number really jump out. This watch should last you a lifetime, and I hope you enjoy it. Congratulations. |

What exactly doesn't seem right about the dial to you? I'm interested in this because I haven't come across one that resembles it.
Now I'm worrying that the glass isn't sapphire, how do I know this for sure? The date itself under the thicker glass is much smaller but I'm not sure anymore. I appreciate your thoughts! Elliot |
