Scam Help: Debt Collection Agencies?

I have posted about my situation before, and unfortunately im still fighting the same one.

A gentleman in England has $1,500 from a deal that went south. He is still in communication with me and "tries" to send me my money back via every medium i suggest however theres ALWAYS an excuse why it hasnt worked.

I am tired of having this on my conscience and want to finish this 8 month ordeal of yelling at him everyday and listening to his excuse.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a debt collection agency for non-commercial issues that also deals with international situations (as i am in the US, not England as he is). I dont want to pay any fees, rather id like for them to just take a commission from the amount I get back (if they can get it). Ive come to the conclusion some money is better than none.

He said hes in Devon England. I have has "address " and his bank account numbers. But a friend in England let me give him his address to "send the check too" but it was just more excuses and no tracking.

I honestly have tried everything. And then over again. This has been going on for 8 months and I'm tired of this burden in my mind. Debt collection is the only way to go now it seems.

Anyone recommend a debt collection agency?

if they work as they do here in Aus, they will "buy" your debt for something below its value and then chase the guy for what they can get. Good luck.

I think that 'selling a debt' is actually illegal & very unlikely in the UK.

Furthermore, without a successful prosecution through the courts having been won the debt-collectors have no way of knowing the rights & wrongs of any aledged debt, so they will want paying a fee up-front PLUS a percentage of anything they recover.

That's just my opinion though..... Although I've collected on bad debts (my first Rolex was one such payment) I've never done it on behalf of someone else, but I have a friend who's a qualified bailiff & debt-collector so I'll see him later today & get more factual info'.

Let me know what your friend says. A lawyer friend sent him a letter and such but there's really not much she can do as debt collection is very tricky and the situation being international even more.
