FYI - The 16700 is the same as the 16710.

Rolex USA RSCs are not supposed to sell you one. Neither are ADs.

You can try the for sale section here. Steve Mulhulland sells a number of inserts and other parts - as do others.

I bought a couple of genuine inserts from a forum member here TurboWatch aka Tom. Look him up and send him a PM.

Steve Mulholland(Stevemulholland3); Anastasios(Tempoking); BlaineMattison(username the same).
One of these guys will have one or can get you one, no doubt. All are extremely trustworthy, IMHO.

good luck!

Genuine bezel inserts are $50 from an authorized dealer. Why pay twice retail from someone selling them at $100 to $150 here?

I've never had a problem getting one from an authorized dealer.

One technique used by some here to obtain a new insert is to remove your old insert, walk in to a dealer and tell them it fell out somewhere and you are unable to locate it. They are prone to popping out at times if they they are struck on something. I've had one pop out once myself.

You must be special John.

Lots of stories here from folks who are turned down flat...but maybe they need to use your trick.

Agreed, the prices I've seen bezels go for on this site are down right stupid. Some are a too little caught up in TFL b+s fever!

Take your insert out and go to a dealer. Did it with my GMT and came out on top.

Sure...but depending on what dealers are in your area, and other factors, TRF may be less of a hassle. Folks are free to bargain here - in case you didn't know.

As many others mentioned Steve Mulholland. He's a great guy, and has his hands on plenty of goodies!

Not to mention he's a cool guy to chat with!

Nothing special with me! I believe that I have purchased three or four new GMT inserts thru the years from Rolex AD's. Since I've lived all over, from Florida to California, I don't believe I've purchased from the same dealer twice. The last one I purchased was here in Dallas, at an AD. The sales guy wanted to see my watch and record the serial number before they would order an insert from the RSC. Also, I purchased a complete, numbered bezel for my 1992 Tudor chronograph last year from the Rolex Service Center. I tried to get the AD to change the bezel, but they said they would be sending it to the RSC for replacement, so I just brought it there myself. I left the watch, and I received it back in two days. It cost more than a GMT bezel insert since it was the complete bezel for the chrono.

good advice and after you have bought your overpriced insert, you still have to fit it which an AD/RSC will do for free

They may not fit it if is not a direct replacement.

Again, TRF is good for inserts if you can't get someone to sell locally. Period the end.
