Love those maxi-dials

Every time I see a Rolex with the maxi dial I find myself wanting one. I also want to stay with the Sea Dweller. So, when did Rolex make Sea Dwellers with maxi dials and how much should I expect to pay for a nice one? (no, I don't want a Deep Sea)

I'm afraid you are out of luck on the SD with a Maxi Dial -- The 16600 was not produced with a Maxi Dial.

x2 1665 SD came with matte maxi dial can be had for around $10k depending on the specimen.

Both correct and they were proper maxi dials without the tiny bling gold surrounds.

Thanks for the great pics and suggestions, fellas. I can't justify $10K for a vintage maxi SD so, I'll have to consider a Sub. Don't know if I'm ready to let go of my SD though. Hmmmm.

Some Rolex models have wider hands and larger hour markers, hence the name "maxi dial." Examples are the 16610LV (50th anniversary Submariner), 116710 (GMT IIc), 116610 (new Sub ceramic), and some of the older Subs and Sea Dwellers.

16610:

That should give you the idea.
