Try to avoid refinished dials with vintage Rolex if at all possible.
So...no.

It all depends on why you are buying it.
You should always buy a watch becasue you like it. If you really mean will I be able to sell it without a loss later on or for a profit, then you're buying for the wrong reasons in my opinion. Refinished dials are not a problem if you like what you're buying and accept that you have not found a real bargain. Given the choice between a well refinished watch at half the price of one with a grubby untouched dial, I would go for the refinish every time. After all, I have to look at it every day. Poeple don't get upset about restored cars so what's the issue with watches, as long as you know what you're buying? |
