Hello Allan!
I regret to know about the passing of your Dad, but I wish his watch will remind his figure and nice moments shared with him, everytime you take a glance to your beautiful watch. It is indeed a classic, a full yellow gold Day Date, with matching President bracelet, a very classic and elegant combination. Hope you will enjoy it in many years to come, and I well understand you will never want to depart with it. Best cordial regards, Abel.

Sorry for your loss. Nice watch to remember him by.
I got my dad's watch when he passed, but it's a gold Seiko not a Rolex but it's the memories about him wearing that watch that count.

thanks alot folks ur comments at it are very comforting ,,i love looking at it ,im always looking at it and if a sad song comes on i just it tight and stare at it and think of some memorys we had together .,i know that i had to change the date on it as it was wrong for some reason and the day was also wrong maybe he had it off his wrist while he was in hospital that it slowed down a bit but i had to go all the way around the 12hink its hours to change the date i think its the older version of it,
thanks again people |

Welcome to TRF Allan. I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your dad but as another member said time will heal your sorrow. Cherish your dads watch as it now serves as a constant reminder of him. He's now smiling seeing that you are wearing his watch.

Welcome to the President's club.
May I recommend that you take it to have it serviced and have the band adjusted to fit? The service will not be cheap, but the bracelet adjustment should be. They can tell you what the model # is (it's between the lugs). There are three kinds of movements when it comes to setting the date:
You can find the information in the Internet once you know which movement you have. (my guess is a single quick-set)
