Need Votes on Xmas Wrapping of Rolex
OK, bought my wife nice 31 mm TT rolex for Christmas. I never thought i would spend 8K on a watch, but i did. I am only giving her the one gift his year as last year she had about 50 boxes to open. I was thinking today I would wrap it up nicely in my Fossil Watch tin and get a little kick out of her seeing the rolex after thinking she got a $100.00 watch i showed her. Or should i just wrap up the Rolex box and let the whole rolex presentation stand on her own? Any thoughts or other creative ways others have wrapped theirs? Might be a great thread for this time of year?

I vote for the original box, maybe some green gift wrap with a gold bow?

Al's idea is great. Let her work for it. Get as many boxes as you can & drive her crazy. BTW thats a excellent gift.

I'd be even meaner and wrap it in a king size Toblerone box, just because Toblerone is the most recognizable wrapped gift there is. That way she gets to ponder her chocolate for a few days until finding out its a Rolex.

do both.... hide the rolex wrapped in the original box... then buy a cheap watch and let her unwrap that one first...

Don't muck up the presentation for your enjoyment.
Leave it in the original box. All wrappers and stickers intact for her to open. For some people being presented with a brand new Rolex is a once in a lifetime experience. Why muck it up for your enjoyment? Do it right!

Original presentation, but wrapped inside of a box for a clothes iron, vacuum cleaner, or pots & pans set.

I stuck my wife's in the toe of a pair of house slippers.
You should have seen her jaw drop.

The bark probably scraped the skin off the poor woman's toe when she put them on.

Original box... my wife just got hers early and immediately lit up upon seeing the crown on the sleeve. Then the excitement just builds as you open layer upon layer... :)

Keep it in the Rolex Box, and wrap it up .. She will love you all the same, and it will be awesome to see her face as she unwraps it knowing that you bought her something extra special .. Best of luck to you.

Keep it all original, remember the first time you opened your first Rolex, it's a moment that lives with you forever.

I agree with this idea. Maybe let her stew a few minutes before presenting the other box. You could always say "you know we promised not to go overboard this year" or "you said it is the thought that counts".

I think the extra boxes will be great. I get nervous just thinking about it. The feeling of opening up a new Rolex box................ PRICELESS.

Definitley use the Rolex box. As others have already said it will create a lasting memory for the both of you. Congratulations and enjoy her surprise!
