Panerai is the BEST!
I have had watches from Omega PO to Cartier Roadster chrono to Rolex GMT iiC to a lot of other watches lol but, the only watch that ever gets compliments is my Panerai Pam 297! Another reason to just love it even more :). I want to post some pics of my Panerai in the Wild at the clubbbbb. Sorry, if some of this doesnt make sense because I had a long night last night so i might be still a bit tipsy haha!

Personally I don't select my watches based on the compliments I get from others...
Glad you like your watch though. |

I agree with you that your Pam 297 is the best watch ever made only because you backed your statement up so many valid irrifutable facts.
Enjoy wearing it. Personally I think my 231 looks better.

I don't mind a compliment on my PAM, but that's only because 98% of the population has no idea what it is. Now a Rolex compliment takes on a totally different tone..

Yep - it's our fault....
Don't think anyone is hating, that's too simple of a way to look at it. If you care to hear why ppl here responded the way they did, then read on. If not - there's the back button. Many of us here actually ENJOY watches for what they are - functional art. Don't really care if anyone else notices or likes. The way you came across is that you only bought a Pam to get noticed, or to gain compliments. That used to be the reason most people bought Rolexes - just because that was ALL they knew. And those of us who actually like the brand get 'branded' in with that bunch, which doesn't sit well. All I'm saying is get it for yourself, not for recognition. Enjoy the watch, do more things just for yourself, and if you care to discuss this over a drink - I'll be the tall guy with LV kicks at one of the table-tops in Tryst on new year's

I ain't going to spat with him, Danny-O! If he has a chip on his shoulder, he'll quickly realize this isn't the best place for it. If not - I'm sure, he'll come around. I don't wanna argue with anyone!

Have fun with your Pam. Looks like you like to pat yourself on the back with material things.
I do agree though, Panerai makes killer watches.
