I would not want to buy a Rolex on eBay. I want to meet the seller face to face and see his driver's license and auto license plate. I want to get a good feeling from him or else no sale. I have bought 3 Rolex watches in the last 18 months on Craigslist. Not always but it's fairly easy to spot a crook.

I bought mine via Ebay.
I've bought four or five high end watches via Ebay. I make sure it has the box and papers. I ask for a couple additional pics to ensure the watch is in their possession. I also ask for a close up of the warranty card. I call the AD that sold the watch and ask if they sold that specific watch in that specific month. They usually tell me the date which I confirm on the warranty card. They will not share the name, but most will share the model and the day they sold it.

Naturally, they are all authenticated by a local watch expert.

So far, so good.
