312 Fever
Greetings, Everyone ~
I am not new to the forum (although I've rarely ever posted) but mostly tracked the Rolex group. I happened to drop in on the Panerai threads a few weeks ago and found myself memorized by the beauty of these watches. It didn't take long to know I wanted one. After reading the posts from you all and researching the PAMs, I have decided on the 312. I would like this watch to be my daily wearer but I have a concern with its thickness. I have owned a DSSD and it fit under the cuffs of my dress shirts albeit without much room to spare. The 312 looks thicker than the DSSD. I have tried to find the case dimensions of the 312 but have not had any luck so far (other than it is 44mm). Does anyone have the case specs they can share (thickness and case length)? Thanks in advance. |

The 312 is a great watch and the weight is perfect IMHO. There's no getting around the fact that it's a thick piece, but it works. If you can handle the DSSD, you'll be good with the 312.

Thanks for your reply, Bryan. I have read quite a number of your posts and know you're a big 312 fan. It certainly is a beautiful watch!

The AD did not have a 312 in stock, so I tried in a 320 (GMT) for size and thought it was a thick piece. I would have to wear it around the AD some more before pulling the trigger. I really like the 1950 case though. I thought about the 351 with the light-weight Ti case, but not sure that I dig the brown dial.
