JLC wins with me hands down...
I find it has functions I would really use, I like how the bands easily change on it.... IWC Big Pilot is a nice watch that has never really grabbed me. I guess it depends on what you need, they are both different pieces. You get a LOT more watch with the JLC Both are SOLID companies!!

big pilot is well loved, but to me, it's an old man's watch. it looks like a plane instrument as that's its history. boring. nice, but i just don't like it.
i like the JLC brand much better and the modern looks of the extreme world to match. it's my favorite out of their sporty lineup. good luck. |

Man, I must be opposite here. Had both at the same time back in 2007, sold the JLC and kept the Big Pilot. I still have it, a 5002 transitional with a black croc strap from a 5004 ;)

Both fantastic watches, but for me there would be no doubt - JLC all the way!

JLC. I much as I like old fliegher designs that watch is just oversized at 46mm with that giant crown. At 43-44mm with a normal crown it would have been perfect.
Then again, I think the JLC is needlessly large and to busy as well, so I would put my money elsewhere altogether. |

JLC all the way...never cared for the crown on the IWC BP...although prefer this one over the Extreme.
