Just a few dings...

I've been with my GMT-Master II for over a week now and am so in love (with the watch and of course with my wife, who bought it for me!). While staring at it for way too long yesterday, I noticed a few dings - ones that I could feel with my fingernail. Typically I am fine with "battle scars" - my old datejust had quite a few. But since these are not my battle scars, they will probably bug me a little bit. Can these things be easily buffed out? If so, I will be content for the next few years until I get it serviced at the RSC and just have them buff them out. If not, I might get a little crazy

I hope everyone had a great holiday and for those of you in the northeast, staying warm and enjoying the snow from the inside of somewhere warm!

Just to clarify, I am referring to those "pit" marks specifically. The other little scratches don't bother me!

Any AD, or reputable jeweler with a buffer should be able to take of that for you in a few minutes.

They should be buffable (is that a word?)
I understand your thinking, why is it that self inflicted battle scars are fine, but someone elses are infuriating?

Just be wary of over-polishing. It could do more harm than good.

Thanks all. Should I worry about my AD over-polishing or will they know when it might negatively alter the watch significantly?

what will over polishing cause? Like an indentation in the metal?

Talk with a Rolex-certified watchmaker and see what he tells you. I think those can be dealt with easily based on what I've seen done on this board, but it's the man who'll be doing the work who will know just what needs to be done and what the impact (not the best choice of words) will be on the case.
