Another stupid question from me... RSC

Hi All

Apologies as I know this is another stupid question from me but I was wondering if anyone can tell me what 'exactly' does an RSC do with a watch when it is sent in for servicing? I know they replace worn parts and polish the cases etc. but is there a published list of what steps and tests they go through etc.?

They pull it apart and strip down the movement to the last screw. Then clean all the parts, check the parts,
change the worn out parts. Oil and lubricant the parts when they put them back. Regulate it and water test
it with new gaskets. No published lists only intern technical bullentins.

So it depends on the movements condition what they have to change.

Inspect the watch for worn parts; crown, tube etc...
Service the movement
Replace Gaskets
Polish the Case & Bracelet
Pressure Test it (water resistance)
Send you a nice bill
make recommendations on replacing non essential parts; dial, hands bezel inserts etc.

There you are, casually reaching in to a box of chocs the better half left laying around and BAM! Its like a bloody grenade in a bag of tennis balls...who'd expect it!

When I went to my AD to pick up my EXPII from RSC service two weeks ago, I was almost sold another Rolex watch, but instead, bought a nice diamond necklace and ear rings for my wife's xmas present .................................................. ..No chocolates though

Oh, and my 5yo ExpII looked as nice as the one in the display.

Its described in the SUB C owners manual. i was amazed! looks like they even give you a nice pouch and cleaning cloth!
