Question re: 111 and 312
All,
I have a 111, but am thinking about upgrading to a 312 because I've found I miss the date function. At the same time, I've found that I like the manual wind movement of the 111. Question: Does Panerai make a manual wind version of the 312? Thanks. |

Closest would be the 233, which is a manual wind with 8 days power reserve.
Costs quite a bit more than the 312, and there are various differences - slimmer case, taller crystal, power reserve meter on dial, GMT function, etc. You may find this thread interesting - note that the 233 now has the same AM/PM indicator on the sub-dial as the 270 (not the 'dot' as shown in these pics anymore)... http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=115110

nothing more to add to Clive's comments...manual wind is where its at..but I started with the 312...
for a daily beater..the 312 is great...even though its auto..I wind it every so often...
