Thanks Leo.
The Medici was a bit of a grail that I found in October.
The Krone started me on my fountain pen collecting spree.

The Medici is indeed a grail pen. Congrats on scoring one Sanj.

Beautiful pens but no forgiveness for the poor pictures Sanj.

Thanks. There are a number of grails coming out of the woodwork these days. I think that poor economical conditions are contributing. Looking for a Skeleton 333 and an Octavian.

Don't use these. They sit in a a safety deposit box.

I use a fountain on a daily basis. I go through a rotation of an MB149, 146, Nakaya Decapod, CS Churchill and Lamy 2000.

Cheers

Sanj

There was an Octavian sold yesterday or the day before for $2.4k. If only I hadn't bought an Imperial Dragon I would have bidded on it.

I had a Medici for one week before I returned mine due to defects. It's a very nice, grail pen. Pretty sad to have it returned IMHO.

So far my collection is not as exquisite as yours and I'm now more inclined towards vintage. I would really love to get my hands onto one of those silver overlay MBs from the 1920/30s.

$2.4k for an Octavian is a pretty good deal if it came with box and papers. I have seen prices for pens come down over the past couple of years.

Thanks for the compliment on my collection but the Imperial Dragon is nothing to sneeze at. Very nice pen! You also have very good taste with the MB Safetys. Those are pretty tough to find in good shape. If you go to Pentrace or Fountain Pen Network you can likely find some of the pens you are looking for.

Cheers

Sanj

Thanks Sanj,
The good desirables are still in stratosphere. I was bidding in the bay for a hemie and it went to $2860 last week. Admittedly it's all b+p and mint, but still very high...
The Octavian I mentioned was without b+p. That's why it's so low. There's one in FPN right now.
To be honest after seeing Axel's display of museum quality MB safetys, none of the rest is worth having...
