Should I...

Trade my Panerai 312 for the SS Daytona with white dial. Just wanted your thoughts. Especially from those that perhaps own or have owned both. My wrist size measures 6.75". Thanks in advance.

Apples to oranges really.

If you want my opinion, however, I will say that I've owned both at one point and I kept the 312. The Daytona "mystique" wears off quickly.

Absolutely, if you want the Daytona more than the Panerei.

Definitely not, if you want the Panerei more than the Daytona.

The chronograph feature isn't all that usable either (you have to unscrew them first - I get why - but it makes it wonky to use).

I had nearly $10k wrapped up in a watch I didn't fall in love with, so I traded it. It's well made, but it doesn't live up to the hype if you ask me.

I think it depends on your existing collection; for example, whether you have a chronograph in the mix. I remember you have a Yachtmaster. The PAM 312 fills a unique roll; and it is nice to have one Panerai in the mix. With those wide lugs and having a fat 4mm thick distressed strap....... well no Rolex is going to fill that void. My point is to look at the balance of the entire collection. Price wise it is a good move.

I have both. If I needed to choose which one to keep, the Daytona would win hands down. Whilst the Pam 312 is a very fine watch and has a great looking clean dial, the Daytona is that bit more special...

Down to which one you really want? The Daytona is a nice watch and well made but the 312 makes a nice alternative to your existing collection.

I have to say that I agree. I've bought and sold two S/S Daytonas over the past 10 years, each time liking the look and feel but not truly loving it.

Having said that though, I might still get a third one day - but a TT instead.

+1 from me too. Glad I did it, got the t-shirt and all that, but the Daytona is just too glitzy imho and is less than the sum of its parts.

Here is my thought: Yes, trade for a Daytona!

Let us know what you decide for.

You're just perving over a 312 right now...
Daytona will retain it's value, and I know Sandro's been thinking about one for awhile now...
Did I mention I really. REALLY miss mine?
