polished or not?
when you by a used watch is it better to buy one thats has not been repolished or one that has or does it not matter?

I prefer to buy unpolished...
I like it as it is. The more polished the less watchcase left...

I agree with what the others have said. I'd say that I even prefer a well used look on vintage watches. There are too many over polished watches.

i'd say unpolished too but, having just dropped off my Red 1680 for service they mentioned how poor the previous polishing had been, i finally succumbed to letting them do a light polish as i guess they'll do a better job than most hopefully.....

If I bought a watch that had just been serviced at the RSC, I would expect it to have been refinished properly.
If a watch has been well taken care of and lightly refinished prior to sale, it is unlikely that you could tell.. As for "polishing"...... I don't know... that's shiny, blingy stuff and not for me....

When I buy pre-owned, I like it to look newer (slightly polished).
