1915 trench watch
Hi all
this watch was from my mothers estate it belonged to her father (died in late fifties) and the catch has been locked away since. There was a note attached my fathers Rolex watch the faceplate has been changed, It has a hinged front and back on the back cover it has at the top Swiss, Rolex, .9225 , and it looks like a hammer symbol,a U symbol,W&D.and a serial no 642229 ,under the 2 there is another symbol looks like a arrow pointing at the 2. The word Rolex is also on the large winder gear and swiss made on the small gear. I have been told that the original face was enamel and it had numbers and pos a red 12.The watch is in great condition and is keeping the correct time. Any information appreciated 9See attached pics) Thanks allan ozham |

It looks like a nice vintage piece. I don't know the precise age but one might estimate around the 1920's.
It is a shame that the dial has been replaced, as the original dial is very important to the provenance of the watch. Nevertheless it is still a nice timepiece to keep in the family.
