sooo SCAM of the day is.. not watch related
So I recently bought new BMW for my GF and I. So seeing as its much better than the previous one ( Hyundai.. an old one) we decided to stick it on ebay as we have no need for 2 anyway.
so i get an email asking for a bit more information and best price, so i told him will take a bit less $1275 to be exact cash on inspection and this is the email i get back Thanks for sending me more information about the item. It was really of immense help. I am glad to know that the item is still available. I have actually tried to get the item here earlier but most of the ones I got either had one huge fault or the other while some have even had serious accidents in the past while the rest were really very exorbitant. I have also discussed the payment and price issue with my partner and due to time constraint and nature of our work,We have concluded to carry on with this transaction immediately. To seal this transaction in earnest,we would be very glad to make the payment asap through our PayPal account as We are currently in El Alamein Army Camp, Cultana, South Australia. As to the price, i am ready to offer you $1500 which seems to be very reasonable. To seal this transaction in earnest, we will be very glad to make the payment asap through my PayPal account as we are presently in a camp and we won't definitely be able to make it to my bank to make bank wires across to you. As to shipping, you need not worry yourself about how the item will get to its destination in the United Kingdom as I will contact a shipping company who will handle that. Do get back to me asap with your PayPal Email address and Full name so that I can remit the payment asap. Cheers, I mean come on!! we just want it sold as its taking up space

Gees Toph,
You are a hard man. A genuine buyer who wants to pay more than you ask via paypal so he can send it off quickly to the UK destination?

He might even let you borrow it when you are home on a visit.
This could all work in your favour Toph. I sold one of my bike recently (MV Agusta). From memory I had three offers from the guy on the oil rig who would pay me more via Paypal because he couldn't get to the bank and at least two from the guy who wanted to pay me more sight unseen because he wanted to surprise his dad. Interestingly these buyers emailed me right after I made a change to my ad or I logged on to my ad. But some good news. I won 640000 pounds in that Optus lucky phone lottery last week.

Ah... the classic 419 [advance fee fraud] scam. They'll try this crap on anyone. Only just seen it appear as SMS spam.

All I want to tell is
when you decided to do a face to face deal, you've to be very very careful,
cos I heard from the news that there's a guy trying to sell his BMW and finally he got bit up and one of his ear get cut off and locked him in the trunk and he's very lucky cos. he was saved by the police. |

I am sure the Paypal's $1500 will be in the form of email from the guy, not from the Paypal itself.
