Gold GMT II Green Dial

I've had my eye on the Solid Gold 50th Anniversary GMT II with the green dial. I don't know why, but I love this watch. It really sings to me.

Its spendy. They have one. Z series. So far I have my AD begrudgingly offering me 13 % off. Bout 19,500. Bit of a stretch for me, but I could pull it off. Barely.

Any thoughts on this watch? Anybody have one? Anybody get a great deal on one or feel it might hold its value well longterm? Is it true that not many were made or distributed? Thanks.

Haven't you asked this same question elsewhere....'cause I remember replying to it!!

If you are just about managing that enormous amount, my advise is don't!! You'd be financially better off buying the TT version with enough left over to get another nice Rolex.

It's certainly not a collectible and the GREEN dial is also not very popular as compared with the black one. The GREEN dial is only availble in full gold - NOT in TT though, which is only available in BLACK.

Looked at one also, very nice! But, way to expensive. Do the price you could buy the TT model and still have over $10,000 in the bank. You could do some serious travel and vacation with that $10K.

I agree with JJ and leopardpey.
Go for a TT GMT and you would have enough space with $10K and if you really want a Solid Gold watch then with $19500 you can manage to have Solid Gold Daytona and it would be a good value for your money as compared to 18K GMT.

As I have said many times, if the TT came in green I would be first in line. Hate to say it JJ--I might even flip my blue sub for it.

The TT GMT Anniv. is very nice, but if the all GOLD GMT appeals to KansaiVet then that's what he should get. They are 2 different animals. I really like that TT and see it in my future, but if I had the $20K to spend on a watch then I'd go the gold route for sure.. The solid Gold and Platinum watches are on a different level, atleast in my opinion...

I would love to have the all gold model, but personally the green dial seems to detract somewhat from the package (less stately, formal, something) and seems like it could clash alot with what one is wearing. Funny thing is, historically people liked the black dial for the GMT as opposed to the brown. However, I love the rootbeer dial and when I had it serviced and the dial replaced, I had the option to switch to black - I am so glad I didn't because what I have is a unique Rolex that has stayed true to its history!

I say do what makes you happy. Most likely, if you tire of it down the road, Rolex will switch out the green for a black dial if you request it. Might want to call them and check first for piece of mind!!

Do not settle for any other watch if you are 100% sure that this is the one for you. It will only be flipped at a loss.

There is plenty of profit in the watch for the AD even at 20% + discount.

Thanks Guys. I am not a rich Dude. I make a decent living, but 20Gs is a lot. I almost impulse bought that thing yesterday as I love it so much.

I don't want the TT version as I already have a TT Blue Sub. I don't want the SS version or a solid Gold Daytona as I am holding out for a SS Daytona someday.

Glad I did not buy it yesterday. If I can get the price down a bit more I might pop smoke, get it and get out of the AD! Fast!

I looked at one in person and it didn't do it for me. Too much gold and something about that shade of green just wasn't there. But that's me and it's your money. $20k is quite a bit of change to throw down...

Fair enough.....I'd ONLY spend that kind of money if I won Powerball tonight (Saturday for us here in NZ!!).

You could get at least THREE SS Rollies for that kind of dough!!
