Hologram Protection

Others may want to try this to protect the hologram on the back of their watch. I cut out a Screen Protector for my Palm device and placed it over my hologram on the back of my 16610. I should have done it prior to wearing it for the past 3 weeks...oh well...it looks like it only wore of the 16610.Name: P4260609.JPG

I cut it with a little bit of the protection overlaping the sticker so I can remove it.

every time i buy a new rolex, i remove the hologram with a hair-dryer and then i keep it in the box. Even after 10 years it will be new

If you really want to preserve your hologram, why not just wear the watch with the original round plastic sticker on?

Good point but I didn't really care until recently when I noticed the 16610 disappeared.

Mine is still there and perfect with only 116523 erased but I cant say how long it takes for its wear as I very rarely wear my watch.

Not intended as a flame, but why on earth buy a watch and "very rarely wear" it. I have four of them and I wear a different one everyday, so about equal wrist time. Even when I only had one, I wore it a lot, with my other non-Rolex watches. Just my 2 cents.

Well I agree with you, that having such a great watch and why wearing it very rarely but even I wish to wear it most of the time but nowadays I'm just having my one day for lectures in college and rest of the time I remain at home and doesn't feel comfortable wearing it at home due to the gold scratch magnets. At home I prefer my Omega seamaster Chronograph.
But I never leave my home without wearing my rolex and once this spring term is over I would be on my full workload and definitely my daytona would then find its maximum wrist time.

I have done this with all my Rolex watches and have removed the plastic sticker when selling. The hologram is then as new.

I wear my Rolex every day as it is my only watch (until the new SS arrives).

I understand, now that you mentioned it. Good point, I don't usually wear a watch in the house neither.

I let my come off on its own, don't plan on selling it so I don't really care for the sticker.

I have kept the original plastic sticker cover on my TT Blue Sub and my LV. Hope to preserve them as long as possible!

Just a quick question but why keep the sticker ?, I took mine off the moment it arrived, I hate stickers & thought the reason Rolex adds them is to help identify fakes.

No real reason. I just think it looks cool and classy.

The sticker shows how much wear the watch has had. Rolex uses these like a chart to determine how long the watch has been worn..

Well first I got to ask myself why,its just a bit of in reality useless paper. And not needed nothing wrong with bare SS next to skin. And even Rolex advise to remove it,some a few years back even tried to sue Rolex over a skin reaction to the glue used.If you want to keep it get it off your watch case back, its not important in any way.Unless watch has not been worn and you are going to resell and then of no real importance.

Not really true can buy the holograms on places like ebay plus many others places on net.And quite a few remove them themselves, its really to show with the clear plastic that when first sold the case back has not been opened nothing more nothing less. And some ADs remove them at point of sale it just a bit of paper thats all.
