Rolex EasyLink
I have been wearing a watch with the EasyLink bracelet. I guess I am very fortunate that it works so well for me. Would like to hear other members opinion of the system.
Thx, Mike |

I have that on my bracelet too.
I think it's a clever bit of technology and it has helped save on too many trips to the AD to have links removed or fiddling with the micro adjustments as my wrist size has gone down since getting my watch. |

I have one on my GMT IIC and it's a very clever feature. The problem is that at 5mm, it is too big when I need it in the summer when my wrist swells. To use it successfully, I have to tighten the micro adjustment one hole which makes the watch too tight most of the time, so I generaly don't ise the easy link. The Glide Lock system on the Sub C is probably much more useful. One suggestion for the easy link is to have two 2-1/2 mm links in the clasp to be able to fine tune the fit more precisely.

I love it and it feel just right! When I get hot or do anything strenuous, I pop it out and it instantly feels comfortable again.

What's the difference between the Easylink and the Glidelock?

If the bracelet wasn't so heavy on these new watches, we would need none of the sort. I have a hard time getting my wg blue sub to fit "just right" because the bracelet/watch is so dang heavy. I realize that some of this is just because of the white gold, but it is much easier to get my 16600 SD to fit reasonably because I can wear it a bit looser due to the deceased weight. BTW, I have what I think is the feature you have referred to on my 116400 Milgauss.
Sorry, I prefer old school. Bah, humbug!

I agree with you and find the general subject of "upgrades" an interesting topic. I think many of the upgrades throughout the years were born from a marketing department's stratgey rather than function. For example, Rolex's original hollow link bracelets, I presume, were hollow for weight and comfort function reasoning. And case size in the 34mm to 36mm were chosen for the same reasons, comfort and function.
However, as consumer taste trends changed, my guess is that Rolex decided to compromise some function in favor of adding style. I do agree that some upgrades are in fact improved technology and do offer better function. Some, but not all. Quote:

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. The easylink works great for me. I continue to wonder why Rolex doesn't explain it some with their included instructions. I suspect more than a third of the owners out there have no idea how it works or what it even is.
I wish my Omega had it. I removed 1/2 link and have been going up and back in my mind about adding it back on. I guess I should just go buy some loctite and add it back on instead of making a trip to a jeweler to add it on. Those screws on the bracelet make it pretty easy, but I don't want to loose a screw. No doubt the sub's glidelock offers even more flexibility, but I think it may be a bit larger clasp. So I'm happy with what I have. So yeah, it's a winner for me.

No problem Steve
I should add, I own a 116200 which has the Easylink as well, very handy function, especially in Summer. I wear my watches reasonably tight anyway, so when my wrists swell a bit in the heat, the Easylink is spot on for me |

I for one have a preference to the older style, seems that the new bracelet is a hair smaller and I get a better fit with the older 93150

I love the feature! You get 2 springbar adjustment positions, plus the easy link. I set it tightest in the winter/low activity. In the summer with more physical activity, the easy link sometimes doesn't quite get me enough room, so I move the springbar anchor point.

It works well for me. I like the fact that I can change the length fairly easily.

The EasyLink is a hidden link in the clasp that you can pop out - it looks short/small, but extends the bracelet quite a bit. Works great when my wrist swells up. The GlideLock is a series of notches you can adjust the clasp onto giving you quite a bit of adjustments.
