Hello from Edmonton! Questions about purchasing and waranties and dealers.....oh my!
Forgive the questions that could be googled, however, there seems to be so much garbage out there.
I have now caught the bug involving Rolex, and really, in the grand scheme of things, should not fork out money on toys, but I really....really want one now. My eye is on a Green Sub. So in my quest I have raked up a couple of questions, that I believe you guys can answer. 1. When buying a Rolex, if I buy it from a retailer on this site, would I not be entitled to the waranty service offered by Rolex? (As opposed to buying from a local dealer?) 2. Does it matter about Rolex service? Can I get my watch maintained by another watchmaker with no obvious concerns? 3. Any cross boarder issues? US to Canada? And last but not least... 4. Price. Last I looked at a price list my watch list for $7 750ish. But my local dealer list it at $9k. How far off Rolex price list is fair? (I would assume the price list from Rolex is akin to MSRP?) Welcome to TRF!!
 You only have two choices in Edmonton, Sweedish Jewellers or Gemoroes.. The warranty should be good anywhere for the first two years of initial sale! Sweedish have an on site facility to service anything Rolex and will give you a further two years warranty on the service. As for cross border, GST & PST are certainly a concern...... Welcome to TRF. The Canadian 2010 list for a new 116610LV Green Sub is $8970 CDN. With the current exchange rate, it is a way better deal in the US or from a trusted seller on TRF. Hope you find the watch you want.
