FS: Omega Seamaster 120 Automatic Chronometer w/ Factory Anomaly Speedmaster Dial

This is a very nice (excellent over-all condition) Omega Seamaster 120 Automatic Date Chronometer 2301.21.00 in 18K yellow gold and stainless steel with the celebrated factory anomaly Speedmaster dial!

As far as I have been able to ascertain, this watch, Case Ref. 168.1601, is one of only a handful released in 1998/1999 with the misprint Speedmaster dial. Research indicates my watch is only the fourth documented example of this rarity.

The dial is pure white, with a guilloche centre and pointed yellow metal batons at the hours; there is an aperture for the quick-set date at 3 o'clock. The hollow hands with luminescent tips are reminiscent of the Seamaster Professional series . . .

The bezel, screw-down crown, and elements of the centre bracelet links are 18k yellow gold; the case, the screw-down case-back and the balance of the bracelet are stainless steel. The bracelet will comfortably fit a 7 1/2" wrist and secures with a single-button hidden deployant clasp.

The movement is a 21-jewel automatic hack-set chronometer-rated Omega Calibre 1109. Serviced in February, 2008, the watch has just received a tune-up by Palmer's Jeweller's of Kokomo, Indiana and it is keeping superb time.

This Seamaster / Speedmaster runs like a thoroughbred and has good looks to spare . . .
