DJ in OQ case?

Wasn't there a version of the DateJust back in the day that was housed in an OysterQuartz type case and integrated bracelet? That'd be the one for me, I love that case/bracelet setup.

Yes quite true it was the Ref 1630 from late 1970s,and now
would cost in the region of £3000-£3500 perhaps more, quite a rare model.

Yes agree but in the late 30s early 40s Rolex had a similar looking case but not quite as big.

Yeah - nice watches Al/Padi but I would go for the (SS) 1530 over the (TT) 1630 anyday of the week. Don't see that many for sale very often :-)

1630 in my book is the best. That pic is nice but still does no justice to it. I am shocked Rolex stopped producing that setup seems it would be a more reasonable production piece.

Ok guys, calm down a bit.

Here you go AL, this one is mine: 1630 from around 1977 (5.13m serial), fully serviced by Rolex.

John.

VERY nice, John!

I've unearthed a couple for sale but they're pretty spendy.

No it doesn't - I saw that very watch in the flesh when John last popped over to Melbourne, and it looks even better than in the photo.

Not that that takes anything away from John's photography skills, of course.

Thanks guys, it's a really nice watch, but may have to go to another home. Have to make way for something else special.

James, I will see you guys around the 25ish July if all goes well. Will let you know exact dates soon.
