When did Rolex first print the word DAYTONA on their dial?

Hi guys,

The earlier Rolex Chronos were called COSMOGRAPH!! It was much later that the word DAYTONA was introduced onto their dials.

Does anyone here know in which year this was done?

Thanks - JJ

I've been looking around on the net and in a couple of books I have and nothing. It looks like it may be around 1991, but not sure

The word "cosmograph" above the 6'oclock subdial was on the 6263 and 6265 gold models released in 1970 and this reference was continued to be sold till 1987 before the release of 16520 with El Premiero movement.
Also to know the 6263 and 6265 SS versions had "Daytona" above the 6'oclock subdials at the same time.
So, there existed both "Daytona" and "Cosmograph" on the 6'oclock subdial from 1970 to 1987 in 6263 and 6265 ref.: "Cosmograph" on all gold versions and "Daytona" on SS versions.
