The Clash or Sex Pistols?

Which one your favorite England's Punk Band? The Clash or Pistols?
I believe between Clash & Pistols is like Beatles vs Stones in Punk world.
Many good Punk Bands beside 'em, like The Damned, Buzzcocks, etc.
But, everytime I'm thinking about Punk Bands from Englad, always they two come first.
So, what's your favorite? Why? Please vote. Thanks.

Kindly Regards, Heru (TR).

Sex pistols. Towards the end, Clash has abandoned their true punk roots, IMO. But boy, did they rock at first

The Clash were true musicians, the Pistols were barely a garage band that did the right thing at the right time.
Never Mind the Bollocks was a great album, albiet due to the wizardry of studio engineers. I still love the piss and vinegar energy of that album and still play it.

Out of the two listed it would be the Sex Pistols.

In my younger days I used to co promote a couple of Punk bands (just left school). One called themselves Pulex irritans (not great for everyday use)and I cannot remember the other one.

The things that happened!!

I didn't stop long

Voted for the Clash as I am an fan of the movie "Rude Boy". Also liked Penetration and Sham 69 - although more Oi! than punk.

I never considered The Clash as a punk band they were very different they just happened to come out of the same era. Strangers were also lableled a punk band but were not. Best Punk band The Damned followed by Sex Pistols

and I still have the original single of this

Early Clash. As for the Pistols, Never Mind the Bullocks was the only album I cared for.

The Pistols had so much influence on me growing up in London...saw both bands a few times....always more exciting to see the Pistols....

But for continued listening and as my music taste developed...Clash would be the easy winners...superb musicians...all time great songs.....and gobbing on them was a pleasure

I want to say the Pistols, but in the end I think the Clash were more influential and made better music

The Clash and in particular their earlier albums. Really liked their rendition of Police and Thieves.

I was lucky enough to see them when they opened for The Who in 1982 I think... at Rich Stadium. I think there were 80,000 general admission tickets sold for that show. Really crazy concert experience.
