Deepsea took the lead
Hi
I wore a few Rolex watches in the last few months, green ceramic sub black sub, sea dweller and deepsea. I was not very keen on wearing the deepsea as first few days it felt a bit heavy, but then after few days of wearing one and also saw few guys wearing panerais and omega I felt the deepsea was a very reasonably sized watch and believe me you wont like other Rolex watches once you are used to wear a deepsea. It seems by far a better quality watch. Offcourse you might not agree but this is my humble opinion after using almost all the current Rolex models.

I do agree that the overall heft of the watch makes it feel of much better quality than any other Rolex I have owned... This being said though I believe it is just the size, ALL Rolex I have ever owned are all of the same superior quality
I will say however now that I have picked up a DSSD again all my other watches seem sooooooo small after wearing it I remember this from before as well

I also tend to equate heft/density with "quality". My first decent watch was an Ocean7 G-1. When I went to look at a 14060 it felt like it was a cheap POS in comparison. It was much smaller, lighter, and "looser".
But I quickly learned that it is superior in almost every way. Nit quite comparing apples to apples in your case...bu I think I can understand how after wearing a DSSD that anything else would seem like a toy watch that you get from a gumball machine! HAHA! :)

I wear a DSSD everyday and I don't feel like rotating to any other watch. Truth be told the DSSD cured me of "watch lust". I finally found what I've been looking for and am strangely satisfied. I plan on wearing this one until I stop ticking.

It sounds as if you have found the one that is special to you. It's a bit to big for me, but that's what is so great as Rolex has made enough different types to address a wide variety of tastes and needs.
It's an Awesome looking watch. Congrats.

I find it strange that the weight of the sub c seems to get over looked,When I bought my Panerai I viewed a sub c at the same time, the Pam had some weight to it but the sub c,to me was a lot heavier,is the deepsea that much heavier than a sub c? if it is I'm not sure I would enjoy that much "quaility" but who knows I do like bigger watches.

I Agree. Some days back I went to my AD and tried on a DSSD. It feels more solid and well built than any other rolex.
Also liked the lack of cyclops. It's very clean-looking. |

I usually wear my watch slack but with the DSSD I have to wear it tight. Although the adjustable clasp makes this a pleasure to do |

Can't wait to pick up my DSSD later this Summer for my travels!! It's the perfect compliment to my SD4000, and SS Daytona.....then I'll just need the COSC 14060, Milgauss GV, and both new ExpyII's......always something, isn't it??!!

Great watch , It took just a couple of days to get used to the weight difference from my Daytona . No longer notice it at all .
Just hoping for the weather to turn a little so I can justify wearing short sleeves to the office . |
