I need a day/night in Edinburgh soon!

I haven't lived there for over 12 years but it still feels like going home!

I bet the AD I bought my sub from is in that pic. Watches of Switzerland on Princes St.

Cool picture

About 6 years ago use to work across in edinburgh on a regular basis. Could see the castle from our window but after a while you don't give it a second look. Was across a few months ago & makes you realise what's on your back door. What a landmark for a city to have

Great pic, Johny. Was back there with the family last summer on our Scottish tour and I love the Castle. My wife liked the shopping on Princes St. as well.

thank you for all the nice replies. i can take no credit for the pic it was taken by my pal danny mcgurk, he sent it via his phone. i think it was a gentle reminder to me to renew my subscription to Historic Scotland which i had already done the other evening. johny

Errrm... There was a fortification on that sight back then. It's like the USS Enterprise, though, and has had a few regenerations since then!

Not been through 'Auld Reekie' for awhile now must make a point of making the journey sometime soon even if it's only for a wee poke roon Hamilton & Inches.

Oh and for the record yes the view is stunning from the Castle on a nice clear day as the pic shows but you'd be surprised just how small it is inside it.....oh and make sure you are there before 1 in the afternoon
