Icon20 MD, VA, DC. Official 1st annual GTG, lets make it happen!

Ok guys, lots of great GTG's going on around us so lets make our first official GTG in our neck of the woods and show TRF we can party to.

If you are interested in getting together simply subscribe and reply to the thread on your availability and depending on where everyone is coming from we can make adjustments accordingly. I want to make this as convenient as possible for everyone.

As of right now I am thinking possibly the Rockville MD area, Tyson's or somewhere in DC, but I am open to suggestions. Plan on having food and drinks and possibly stopping by a watch shop or AD.

If this turns out to be a success we can make it happen every year

Returning stateside from deployment in a week - I'm in! Saturday nights after 6pm would be best for me.

Kings Jewelers in Alexandria would be a good place to go although it is not that big a store.

Ok guys lets work on a date. Sose you come back from deployment in 4 weeks, DCgator will be back in a week. I think Sunny and I are the most flexible in terms of availability. Saturday at 6pm works for me.

How about May 21st? Too early? let me know.

My schedule is changing by the minute. I might be back in less than 4 weeks so maybe sooner might even work.

Believe it or not, I'll be away for work the last week of May for about 8-9 days and I think it covers that span.

I could be in, but my first availability is June 25. We are booked solid until then. I'd be happy with anywhere in the DC metro area. Rockville-Bethesda is first choice, but that's only because I live there.

Are you thinking just members or spouses/SO's as well?

It would be great to have you join, we are still working on a date and if it so happens to be before the 25th I am sure we can arrange another one in the summer time for good measure. I planned on it just being members but if your spouses do not mind hearing watch talk, the more the merrier

There is a nice and cozy Japanese Buffet Restaurant call TODAI in Fair Oaks Mall, Fairfax. Very convenient and just minutes of I-66.
On top of that there is also an AD Liljenquist & Beckstead in the Mall minutes away walking.
Don't quite dig Japanese Buffet?
There is an Italian Restaurant across from this buffet.
I think they serve wine and beer. Can't remember the name.

In Tysons Corner there are 2 AD's.
Lenkersdorfer in Tysons I
Liljenquist & Beckstead in Tysons II.

Nice to take a look at those AD's. Many brands to ooh and ahh.

Thanks. That would be appreciated. Let's not do it over the July 4th holiday. We usually go to Florida then for a long weekend. My guess is we'll probably go from June 30 - July 5 or 6.

You know they are both owned by the same company. If I recall, Fair Oaks is at least a 15-20 min. drive from Tysons. Not that that matters, if we do a Saturday afternoon.

Ok guys are we in agreement that we want to postpone this GTG till mid July? Maybe we can do a mini meet up beforehand if its too far down the road for some. Let me know.

How do you guys feel about Saturday, June 11th? There is a GTG going on WUS (public watch forum) scheduled the same day and I talked to the organizer and he wants to wrap it into one big GTG. It will be in the Silver Spring area if you guys are interested.
