What do you think of this GMT 1675? It's for sale...I might buy it.

I saw this ad and I don't really know what to look at with this model of watch to know if it's original or what. What do you think? It's advertised as a 1972 GMT 1675. Is that a replacement bezel? (numbers appear skinny to me). It's a non-original bracelet apparently. Seller is asking $4150 CDN.

I can't tell anything from those photos. I'm not comfortable with the bezel though.

Can you get better pics to really tell.

I'd pass if it was me, as you've already pointed out the bracelet, bezel are both wrong. Why buy when you know this, as it's going to cost you to find the correct ones.

Pass on it. You can find an original piece in great condition and be much happier knowing that something isn't amiss. Resale will always be better with the correct bracelet and bezel and the cost of replacing a braclet is prohibitive.

I'm not a expert on 1972 GMT's, but that seems like a high price. I would think that you can get something close with a decent Rolex bracelet for less. Is this your birth year, or something?

I'd spend a little time researching the model/ref you want. I'm concerned when I read "I don't really know what to look at with this model of watch" and "..I might buy it"

Do your homework and search around on here for who the knowledgeable vintage sellers are - they'll get you a great piece if you have patience. May not be a "steal" but it'l be far more worth it in the long run!

Become a mini expert!

Happy hunting

No it's not my birth year or anything. Good advice though. I'm just trying to learn. Usually I just jump in and learn but I suspected you guys would have some good input. The watch is just close to me, and there aren't too many close by. I don't want to have to ship from the US. Thanks a lot....I'm going to pass I think.
