Icon10 Something about old watches that grabs me...

There is just something about these old watches that grab me!! I am not the best photographer--but I think it gets the point across. Modern watches just don't do anything for me but these old things -wow!! Here is my 69' Tropical Red, my 73' Straight Hand Exp II, and my 61' 4 line 5512. These ones just do not get enough wrist time so I took them out for a play. Again-pardon the awful shot--one of these days I will make photography a project! Have a great Sunday all!!

Did someone say old?
I prefer the term vintage........I remember most of my watches when they were new!!!!

We are now vintage......I am sending myself to RSC to be renovated.....I'm gonna get buffed & polished....but I won't have them touch my lugs.

Bah humbug & have a good day.

Ken, that's just an amazing trio of golden era references.

I always try to pick a favorite when I see shots like this, but you make it tough.

There IS just something about enclosed minute tracks and four lines though that gets me going.

I can help you out in seeing they get proper wrist time though.

Beautiful watches Ken
Like Mike .. I too would be more than happy to babysit one of those beauties on my wrist for a couple of days .
Afraid I would grow too easily attached to them

Thanks Mike!! I appreciate your kind offer my friend!!
4 lines get me too!! They each have something unique that gives them
their character! Straight hand, brown dial, closed minute track etc. You have
to love vintage Rolex- each variance and subtlety gets you a different way!!
A lot of great examples here including your special ones Mike!!!

God help me... I'm nursing a semi!

I think if Ken posted one of his MilSub I would need a new computer!!!

I wish I could join the fun... One day...

The Long-Haired General has promised to try to get me a birth year Rolex for my next milestone birthday but, alas and alack, that's seven years away!

Until then (or a lotto win in the mean time) I shall have to be content living vicariously through all of your beautiful watches!
