Its funny how tastes can develop. When I first started looking at Rolex last year I would never have imagined wearing a watch with a red and blue bezel. Now though I cant wait to get my hands on a pepsi.....a real classic.......great pics by the way. (another thread "saved to favourites") to look at in the wee small hours

Too true; I initially chose the GMT because I already own a SD. The GMT seemed like a great Rolex addition for the following reasons:
1. The movement is different from the SD, tracking two time zones. I thought if I was going to buy a second Rolex, it should have characteristics that make it differ from what I already have. Plus, the second time zone is very useful for me. 2. Its a sport stainless, with a great history of exploration and adventure (check the classic 1970's ads at this post: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=6169) A 24 hour world needs a 24 hour watch. 3. I was concerned that BaselWorld would produce a revised GMT II with a commensurate price hike. My AD said this would never happen..............................I found a great discount for the last Pepsi in stock of a larger AD in Toronto, and with a looming price hike for Rolex Canada, decided to make my move. As JJ said to me in a post on the issue, Rolex prices never go down, only up...... 4. It has a colourful bezel insert that is changeable, and which in its Pepsi form, is a recognisable icon of the Rolex sport line, now discontinued................ Overall, its my preferred and most worn timepiece. Light, comfortable, with just the right sized case and dial, what can I say................ Get 'em while you still can. C |

I recall that everything slowed down to a crawl when you were posting, and just speeded up like crazy when you went out to the pasture...
