First post here great looking site. As for me I am 32 bought my first Rolex at 21 when I landed my first "real" job out of college. Non-Date Sub. Great watch. Eleven years later still keeps great time. I have sense added to the collection with a few Breitlings and two IWC's.

So on to the questions I am looking at getting the new Milgauss. Very little info out there on this watch (yes I did try the search function). Has it been released yet? What are the specs? I think I have seen the case diameter of 40mm is that correct? what about thickness? 40mm sounds on the small side is that total case diameter from the 2 o'clock position to the 8 o'clock position? What is the case diameter of a normal sub? or the case diameter of the new GMT II?

The Milgauss is 40MM, uses a 3131 movement, 100MM W/R, twinlock,bracelet number 72400, and has a reference number 116400GV (I assume this is for the "Green Glass" version.)

It's my understanding price is in the $5900 USD range. The best availability I've heard is late summer mid fall, but I think that really depends on where in the world you're located.
There will be three versions, and it's my understanding the "Green Glass" version is the one that will be the most difficult to get.

That's correct. It is NOT a limited version, however there have been reports that Rolex may controll the number of pieces released ala the SS Daytona.

If you know you want it, go in to your AD and put that deposit on it now or get on their list, just in case!

Seen the pics on the official ROLEX website.....and love the plain black or white face MILGAUSS.

I find the green glass MILGAUSS....with its Orange markers at 3,6,9 looks kinda odd.I prefer an even look.

Anyway.....nothing beats seeing the watch in the flesh.So.....guess i'll have to wait on this one....CHEERS

Its this or the new GMT II master for me, OK maybe an LV sub too. Really digging that ceramic bezel of the GMT, should be impervious to scratches. My watches live hard lives so that is a big selling point for me. The Milgauss with the polished bezel will scratch like there is no tomorrow.

I spoke to my AD yesterday, and he said that his impression is that the Milgauss will be the only real HOT watch of the new offerings. Little desire so far from anyone for the YM, greater desire for the GMT but concerns and ambivalence about the ceramic bezel, but lots of people wanting the Milgauss. I forgot to ask him aboutt he green tint around the glass. Is that only available on the ornage and black faced version or will there be a white faced version?

My understanding the "Green Glass" is only on the Black-Orange.

Welcome to TRF

Milgauss is a great choice. Expect to see the new models in late June/July.

I don't think you would expect any more scratches on the polished bezel than you would any other oyster banded watch, although fluted bezels hide it better.

The Jury is still out on the durability of the ceramic insert. Scratches may not show but it may chip, crack or break out if smacked hard enough. Only time will tell the tale.
