Rolexes in the Wild--What Haven't You Seen?
As a watch enthusiast, I'm often on the look out for Rolexes. What Rolexes haven't you seen in the wild?
I've seen Daytonas, Milgauss, Subs ( i can see a couple a day if I look for them), DSSDs, GMTs ( Cokes, Pepsis, Blacks), Datejusts, Exp IIs, Yachtmasters. Yet, I've never seen an Explorer ( 36MM or 39MM), Day Date, Yachtmaster II, or a Sea Dweller. How about you guys? |

You see a lot around here. I think the Seadweller is somewhat hard to see in the wild but I have seen them. I see many more Daytonas. You see all kinds at NBA games.

In the city and my line of work I have pretty much seen all modern Rolex pieces, however, I have not seen in the wild the vintage rare pieces that circulate this thread - steelerfan1965 comes to mind (WOW!)

You own all three Chris.....
Just look in the mirror, that's pretty wild isn't it!?!?! As for the thread question, I've seen all models except for the ladies masterpieces and most all of the vintage Subs and Daytona's.

Dalip will have his in London......A great chance to try it on for a bit and see. In the meantime, a red Sub is the right path to follow....Possibly a DRSD even!(That's my one day grail!)

Never seen the YMII in the wild. It'd be hard to miss it as it's so damn large.

Yesterday I dropped by my FL AD to take pics for those that still believe that SS Daytonas are not in store window cases. Regardless while there, I tried on the TT GMT2c. Unlike when I bought the 16613, Ive been basking in a southern GA spring and am quite tanned. The TT GMT2c just worked with my skin. When I wore the 16613, I was burnt and red, not brown and tanned as now. I've never been a flipper, and this could be my demise. Regardless, I love the TT, I'll definitely swap the ym2 with Dalip's TT just to get a better feel. Now about that double red...my wallet hates you Rob! |

Hang on a minute......Let's go back here! The GMT TT...Something I've always said (and even Dalip will back this up), is that a tan complexion is IMO best for the TT contrast. If you aren't fair skinned Chris, then the TT GMTc IS for you... I think (again I said this to Dalip), the blue was probably what turned you away from the TT's. Dalip did the same thing with his 116613. He flipped it ( not unusual!), thinking the TT didn't work for him..But alas, it sure does with a black dial and bezel!! Now for the DRSD.....Killer watch! Priced high as well! A red Sub is nothing to forget either. You just need to do your homework before delving into these types!

I think I saw a Paul Newman Dayona and a Explorer 1665 in one day! Not many Cellinis or vintages though.
