Sub vs. Sub C

Does anyone know the difference in case width and weight between the old Sub and the new Sub C? I'm a new Sub C owner but thinking of trading for an older model to lighten the load - more comfort. Thanks for your help. Not sure if the switch will make a difference.

I think the Sub-c is more comfortable then the old sub...mostly due to the new clasp.

Demanding aren't ya.

Here are a bunch of weights...of course not for the Sub C

You might want to try the advanced search feature above. It's fun.

I dont think the weight difference could actually be felt on the wrist between the two. The new SubC has too many new features! I wouldnt think about going back!

Sub C is 160grams vs 135 for the 16610.

The sub c might be heavier but IMO it's still a very balalnced watch on the wrist. If you're looking to lighten the overall weight. The 16610 will be a good choice, it's lighter and still feels very balanced on the wrist.

Similarly, I like the weight of the GMTIIC AND the weight of the GMTII (Pepsi)

Different feels for two great watches.

After regular wear on the wrist I think you will find the Sub C more comfortable that the original Sub.

X2

I also find the new ceramic model more comfortable. I find it more balanced and with the clasp, the fit is unmatched. If you don't find the sub c comfortable, look at different models, don't step backwards with the old sub.

HMM- just got a 2010 Sub- the ceramics were out already but I didn't feel like spending the dough - my sub was used. Just yesterday I was admiring a Sub C at a local AD- sure wish I had a Sub C - was considering trade- would lose money for sure- but I have already designated my Sub as " my beater " Looks like I will be stalking the Sub C until I break down and get one. really cannot notice the small weight difference.

Have you tried on an Explorer-II? It's very light and comfortable on the wrist...I find it much more comfortable than the Sub, particularly when I'm being active. If you like the look of the Sub but want lighter/more comfortable, try on a GMT-II 16710. Best of both worlds.

I just got my sub-c 2 weeks ago and i think the watch is very good in overall. Though I haven't had the older sub before, but i'm pretty sure 25 grams difference is not much...

You are talking about wearing comfort, but there is one strong technical argument for Sub C - parachrom hairspring. It is extremely worthy in all those common electrical, magnetic and x-ray fields.

Had both. More than once. Loved them both too

But I'm too much aware of the options and haven't always been able to justify owning too many similarly styled pieces so I kept swapping....

I ended up 14060, and choose to wear it on a distressed leather strap, which massively surprises me as I too loved the Glidelock when I discovered it
