PAM 310 deployment clasp discomfort
I just bought the PAM 310 from another member on this forum (thanks lawrenceb), and while the watch looks nice, the deployment clasp is driving me crazy... it digs into my wrist and hurts after only a few minutes of wearing it. anyone else have this problem? i'm seriously debating about selling the watch and sticking with rolex and omega =P

Get a buckle! Maybe people do not like the deployants. I'm one of them.

i was told i need to get a new strap if i want to use a buckle... i stopped by my local Torneau, and the prices definitely aren't cheap... i think the buckle was around $150 and a new crocodile strap was like $350. perhaps i'll go aftermarket then...

you can buy very good non pam buckles for $20-$30,and non Pam straps for under $100,I would give a buckle a try before you sell.

I think certain deployants tend to work better depending on your wrist size. Or at least that is what I have seen on a number of forums. I have a couple and I have not had any issues with my wrist size 7 1/4.
I agree with advice given prior, try a buckle before you give up the watch. Theres nothing that says you cant by a less expensive non-oem brand and my understanding is that there are a number of real good options. Good luck with your hunt and you might wwant to check out some threaads on straps and the like to give you some ideas.

thanks for the advice... i've done some searching on the forum and there is a plethora of strap dealers. now the only problem is being impatient and waiting for the strap to arrive once ordered =P

A lot of folks have that problem. Go with the Pam tang buckle and your problem is solved. I did.

I have this exact watch and have no problems with the clasp. Just wear it the next notch looser. If you have any more questions just PM me.

don't sell the watch because the buckle isn't working out. try a tang. they're much more comfy in my opinion. plus, the tang panerai buckle is the only way to wear a panerai!

I just switched from tang to deployant last week. I did notice that the tang buckle was a little more comfortable. I am in between holes on the oem strap and tang so the watch tended to shift around on my wrist. When I was using a Heroic 18 strap which is much thicker than the oem straps it seemed to sit perfectly. I started wearing the deployant over the weekend and it seemed fine. I did notice that it left a mark on the inside of my wrist. It almost appeared as though the inner clasp was digging into my skin. I wiggled the band around and it seemed to wear well afterwards. I am pretty happy with the Heroic strap as an aftermarket choice. Their prices are quite reasonable and they can be ordered with a buckle.

Try a different strap with the deployant clasp. Sometimes the hole spaces are different. Also try a buckle with strap. Don't give up the watch until you have tried all of the options. Panerai watches are comfortable if fitted right, deploy or buckle. Ted Su also has an adjustable clasp that might work.
